COLLEGE CODE AND ETHICS

This implies the set of rules or laws guiding putting on of clothes within the college community. The issue of dress code is no longer new. There are several factors that determine the manner of dress of an individual like gender, religious affiliation, attitude towards comfort, marital status, level of income, ethnic or tribal, social class and political lifestyle. The manners by which an individual was brought up will strongly determine his/ her dress manner. To avoid arbitrariness in dressing there is the need to regulate the mode of dressing of the generality of students within the college. This gives rise to the principal of dress code. This is a set of code that specifies the required manner of dressing within the school environment. The dress code of Kwara CAILS is not too much to the extreme but a modest rule expected of a well brought up child from a responsible home.

The lecturer’s of the college have the responsibility to enforce dress code by sending out students who fails to comply with the rules of dress code from the lecture rooms, so also such students are not to be attended to in the various offices of the college.

The college management also put in place a committee to enforce the dress code within the college premises. Currently, membership of the Committee is as follows:

Adam T. Jamiu (Esq) - Member

S. Bint Saruq - Member

Oba Sheu - Member

Ayinla Saidu - Member

The committee is directly in charge of enforcing the dress code, and has the under-listed as penalties for offenders

  1. Admonition: the first step of first penalty is to admonish the culprit especially if such is a first offender i.e a person that just commits the offence for the first time.
  2. Warning: Any student caught in deviance to the dress code after being admonished would be given a strong warning to desist from such mode of dressing.
