CAILS MATRICULATES OVER 300 FRESH STUDENTS

College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin matriculate over 300 students that enrolled for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The ceremony held at the College Lecture hall featured lots of educative programmes, drama and more.

Dr. Sa'ad Hadi, Acting Provost of the institution advised new students against cultism, hooliganism and corruption.

Hadi urged the students to be respectful, modest and decent in their dressings, to make their stay fruitful and productive.

“Today marks the beginning of a transformative journey for our incoming students, a journey that will not only broaden your horizons but also equip you to contribute meaningfully to the society.

“This day symbolizes an important milestone in your academic and personal growth, as you join an institution that has championed excellence in education, since it was founded in 1992,” he said.

The Provost noted that the college stands proudly as a state-owned institution, dedicated to provide high-quality diploma programs.

“The institution had been committed to meet the educational needs of our society and contributes to economic development.

“We offer a diverse range of specialized diplomas, including programs in Sharia and Common Law, Arabic, Islamic Studies, English, Yoruba, History, Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Library Science.

“We also provide National Diplomas in Computer Science and Accounting, as well as Diploma in Catering, to the demands of both local and global communities," Hadi said.

He said that the institution would continue to focus on excellence in teaching, research, provision of middle-level manpower and service to the society, in accordance with the objectives of its establishment.

“To further support our mission of lifelong learning and accessibility, we offer a range of education diploma courses and comprehensive Sandwich Degree Programme, providing flexible learning options for students of all ages.

" To our new students, I am delighted to share that our alumni have distinguished themselves across various prestigious field.

“Among our graduates are Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Judges, Magistrates, Legal practitioners, and other committed professionals in both public and private sectors,” the Provost said.

Hadi explained that the alumni network includes influential Radio personalities, Journalists, University Lecturers, Library science experts, and accomplished Administrators, such as respected Resident Electoral Commissioner.

“We have educators with extensive knowledge, experience, and passion, that work tirelessly to ensure that every student receives holistic and well-rounded education.

“The institution's legacy is rooted in academic rigor and quality teaching, with 52 dedicated academic Staff members, 13 of which are PhD holders, while 33 have Master's degree,” he said.

The Provost assured that the institution is dedicated to high standards and educational excellence, such that the institution alumni's accomplishments extend beyond Nigeria, with some serving as Magistrates in Gambia and other pursuing advanced studies abroad.

He therefore appealed to the government, alumni, and the founding Muslim stakeholders for financial support, to navigate the college challenges.

Also, encouraged new students to make full use of the resources, guidance, and mentorship available in the school premises.

The matriculated students were administered a oath of allegiance by the College Registrar Mallam Afolabi Suleiman, accordingly.
