A Team from the Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Headquarters Abuja led by Professor Olaitan Ola was in Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin on Monday 29 of April, 2024 for the re-accreditation of Professional Diploma in Education Programme in the College.
The Team aimed to ensure the level of Standards/Quality Assurance mechanism are maintained in the PDE-programme and also to meet both the National and International standard accordingly.
The Team and the College Management led by the Acting Provost Dr. Sa'ad Hadi took a facilities tour to inspect the following:
- Micro-Teaching Laboratory
- Language Laboratory
- The College Library
- E-Library
- Lecture Halls
- ICT Facilities
- College Clinic
- Toilet Facilities
- Lecturers or Facilitators' Office
Thus, the inspection extended to Directorate of Centre for Degree and Professional Programmes (CDPP) of the College where the following were thoroughly inspected:
- Student files and Qualification
- Teaching Practice procedure/Compliance
- Vetting of Students Project and many more.
To this end, the exercise lasted for two(2) days concurrently in which Kwara-CAILS has again proven its commitment to excellence as the re-accreditation exercise for Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) earns a 100% pass mark from the Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and granted successful re-accreditation of the programme.
The Team commended the College Management for progress made so far and expressed satisfaction with the quality of teaching and learning as well as the standard of administration in the College.
