Academic Union of the College COLAASU of Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin chapter organized a send–forth celebration for Seven (7) academic retired officers that have reached the statutory age of 65 or mandatory 40 years in service.

The ceremony had in attendance The Provost, Deputy Provost Administrative, Deputy Provost Academic, College Registrar, College Librarian, Representative of Kwara State Head of Service, all Deans, Directors, Heads of Department members of staff and among others.

Speaking at the occasion, the COLAASU Chairperson, Mrs. Hassana Taye Umar, congratulated the retires for meritorious service to the College. She reiterated that the occasion called for thanking giving because all the retirees have been found worthy of honour in recognition of their exemplary service and record of outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the College. She said that " As we reflect upon their journey, we are reminded of their unwavering commitment to academic excellence, intellectual growth, and fostering transformative learning environment. They have devoted their lives to empowering students, forging meaningful connections, and igniting the flame of curiosity within their classrooms. Our retirees have left an indelible mark in our hearts and minds. Their legacies will continue to inspire generations to come as we carry forward the torch of knowledge that they have passed on to us." She further appreciated all retirees from inception till date. She also appreciated all Academic staff for their invaluable contributions, and urged them to continue to work together to achieve greater accomplishments in the future. In conclusion, she extended her deepest gratitude to all retirees and past union leaders for their unwavering dedication, significant contributions and tireless efforts to College academic community.

The retirees were presented with certificates of merit and individual gifts by the Union to appreciate them for being dedicated and hardworking in the fulfilment of the College Mandate.

Responding on behalf of the retirees, Dr. Musa Abdullahi, who retired as the immediate past Provost, expressed appreciation to the Union and staff of the College for the opportunity accorded him and other retirees and for deeming it well to honour them with a well-packaged send-forth ceremony. He then admonished staff in active service to be dedicated and professional in the discharge of their duties.
